Clean Air

WSEC is proud to partner with the Clean Air Fund, Breathe Cities and the City of Tshwane to improve air quality and protect public health in Mamelodi and beyond.

Through this partnership, WSEC delivers community-based air quality education, school workshops and practical greening interventions that help residents understand air pollution, its health impacts, and the actions individuals and communities can take to reduce exposure and improve their environment.

Rand Water

The Water Wise Education Programme, run by (WSEC) in partnership with Rand Water, empowers learners to become informed, responsible stewards of one of South Africa’s most precious and limited resources — water.

Aligned with the school curriculum and Rand Water’s nationally recognised Water Wise initiative, the programme combines interactive learning, practical demonstrations and behaviour-change education to build lifelong water-wise habits.

Youth Club Programmes

WSEC Youth Clubs are safe, inspiring spaces held in local high schools, where young people from Mamelodi come together to learn, lead and take action for their environment. Through hands-on activities and outdoor learning, members explore issues such as clean air, water, biodiversity, climate change and waste, while building leadership and problem-solving skills.

The clubs also introduce environmental entrepreneurship, showing young people how protecting the environment can create skills, livelihoods and future opportunities through activities like greening, food growing and recycling initiatives.

Community Programmes

We host community programmes like climate change workshops, AIDS awareness days, and cleanup campaigns to educate and empower individuals and organizations. Participants learn from experts, explore sustainable practices, and develop tailored action plans. These events foster collaboration and strengthen community resilience.
